EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Full-time position with NPC Emergency Management Dept. Salary offered: $65,728-$74,276, DOE/DOQ, plus exceptional benefits including PERSI retirement, excellent medical/dental/vision insurance for employee and eligible dependents, and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave.  

Position is responsible for establishment/maintenance of a comprehensive Nez Perce County-wide Emergency Management Program providing services to the City of Lewiston, towns of Lapwai, Culdesac and Peck. Position manages the mitigation of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from disasters or major emergencies, which may occur within or affect the jurisdictions.  

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public health administration, communications or related field preferred and three years’ progressive public safety work experience OR at least six years’ work experience in a public safety managerial position with equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of Emergency Management Coordinator. EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS 9-1-1 COORDINATOR

The Emergency Communications Joint Powers Board is actively recruiting for an Emergency Communications 9-1-1 Coordinator for the City of Lewiston and County of Nez Perce. Position maintains mission-critical emergency communications systems and non-emergency calls for assistance to the City of Lewiston, Nez Perce County and system partners. Duties include coordinating, monitoring, maintaining and managing public safety communications equipment and projects for multiple emergency communications centers utilizing a common 911 call taking system and radio platform. 

This position is located in Lewiston, ID at the base of the Hells Canyon and the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers in the Lewis-Clark Valley. Lewiston’s relatively mild climate lends accessibility to a variety of outdoor recreational activities all four seasons. Lewis-Clark State College, the University of Idaho and Washington State University are all within 30 minutes of the LC Valley. The Valley is home to 60,000 residents and is served by a regional airport as well as two US Highways.

MECHANIC/HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

The Nez Perce County Road Dept is seeking a full-time Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Operator. Hourly pay offered is $21.62 -$25.43, DOE/DOQ, with exceptional benefits including: PERSI retirement, excellent medical insurance for employees and qualified dependents, and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave.   

When performing Mechanic duties, position will work under the general supervision of the Shop Foreman and will regularly maintain, service and complete specific repairs on county vehicles and equipment. Successful hire must be a high school graduate/equivalent; meet a minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience in vehicle and heavy equipment repair OR have at least two (2) years’ work experience and possess an Associates’ degree in Diesel Mechanics; and possess a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.    

When performing Heavy Equipment Operator duties, position will work under the supervision of the Area Foreman and will operate heavy equipment during the performance of construction, maintenance and repair activities on County roads and structures. Min. Qualifications: High school graduate/equivalent; and at least two years’ verifiable work experience operating heavy construction and maintenance equipment.    

It is preferable that the successful hire resides within 30 minutes of the Lewiston Road Shop. Drug testing upon hire and random testing while employed. This is a split position and new hire must meet the minimum qualifications in both the Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Operator job descriptions linked below. EXTRA HELP PART-TIME JUVENILE DETENTION SUPPORT TECHNICIANS

Extra Help Part-Time positions available with the NPC Region II Juvenile Detention Center. Positions are paid $15.00/hour with no benefits. Primary responsibilities are to operate the control room and provide technical support. Min. Qualifications: High school graduate/equivalent; at least 21 years of age; two years post high school work experience/educational equivalent; no felony or violent misdemeanor convictions; good physical condition; willingness to work non-traditional hours; and ability to communicate effectively. Successful candidates must also be able to pass a background check.
