Public Access to Brammer Building

DATE: June 17, 2020 - The following offices located in the Nez Perce County Brammer Building, 1225 Idaho Street, Lewiston, Idaho will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 7:00 am to Noon, effective June 22, 2020 through October 2, 2020:

Nez Perce County Personnel
Nez Perce County Planning and Building
Nez Perce County Social Services

Traffic for these offices is light after Noon on Fridays; therefore, the Board wanted to offer hours before 8:00 am and during the lunch hour for citizens to have access to these departments and conduct their business.

The Nez Perce County Commissioners are recruiting for Director of Highways with the County Road & Bridge Dept. located in Lewiston, ID.  Lewiston is situated at the confluence of the beautiful Clearwater and Snake Rivers.  Salary range offered: $66,476-$92,289, and is negotiable if one holds a Professional Engineer's License and has substantial applicable experience.  Road and Bridge employees work (4) 10-hour days per week.  County employees receive exceptional benefits including:  PERSI retirement, excellent medical insurance and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave. 

The Director of Highways, under the supervision of the County Commissioners, plans, manages and supervises County construction and maintenance operations and all Road & Bridge Dept employees and activities.  Min. Qualifications:  Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field and five years’ work experience in building and maintaining roads, highways and bridges OR Ten years work experience in building and maintaining roads, highways and bridges; at least three years supervisory and management experience; familiarity with heavy equipment and its maintenance; and experience in establishing and administering budgets. Extra Help, On-Call Juvenile Detention Officer I positions available at the NPC Region II Juvenile Detention Center.  Positions are paid $13.00 per hour, with no benefits.  Minimum Qualifications:  High school graduate/equivalent; at least 21 years of age; two years post high school work experience/educational equivalent; no felony or violent misdemeanor convictions; good physical condition; willingness to work non-traditional hours and in a variety of work settings; and ability to communicate effectively.  Successful candidates must also be able to pass a background check.

Position performs a variety of clerical and accounting functions in the collection of taxes and the processing of official records.  A high degree of accuracy is essential in processing property tax transactions and bankruptcy claims. Successful hire must be a team player and able to work in a friendly and professional manner.  Min.
