Nez Perce County Agricultural Protection Area Commission
The purpose of this title is to provide a voluntary process through which agriculture and timber producers of Nez Perce County may make application to commit lands for long-term agricultural and forestry uses. The Agricultural Protection Area Ordinance aims to protect and enhance the economic and cultural benefits that land actively devoted to agricultural, rangelands, and forestry provide to Nez Perce County; by promoting proactive planning tools for landowners and governing bodies and maintaining and enhancing the economic value of these lands without impacting the property of those that elect not to participate. This commission will meet within 60 days of an application being submitted to Nez Perce County Planning & Building Department. They will also meet once a year in February on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:00 PM if no application has been submitted that year, as per state code requirements.
This commission shall carry out duties enumerated in Chapter 97, Title 67, Idaho Code, and Title 114 of the Nez Perce County Land Development Code for Agricultural Protection Areas. Members of its board are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Their term of office of the Commission members shall be three years.
