Resumption of Construction at the McGary Grade Bridge Project –
Construction on the McGary Bridge east of Juliaetta Idaho off of State Highway 3 will resume on April 27, 2017. Unfortunately, the Contractor was unable to finish construction in 2016 due to weather conditions. The installation of a waterproof membrane, asphalt paving, and pre-cast curb are some of the remaining work items that need to be completed this year. In order to complete these items of work, McGary Grade be closed to through traffic starting April 27, 2017. The estimated completion of work is May 5, 2017.
The detour route can be accessed from State Highway 3 at Kendrick via Southwick Road (Wauncher Grade) to Leland Road to McGary Grade. The detour route will be posted from State Highway 3. The detour route can also be accessed at the Cherry Lane Bridge off of Highway 12 east of the Highway 3-Highway 12 junction. A map of the detour route is below:
The bridge has been completed and includes two 11 foot lanes with 2 foot shoulders as well as cast-in-place parapet. The entire project area will be paved with new asphalt concrete paving upon completion of the waterproofing membrane and other prep work.
The Contractor is C.L. Heilman Company from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
