VOTING INFORMATION

SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTIONS
MARCH 14, 2017

In-person absentee voting is available at the Auditor Recorder’s Office, Nez Perce County Courthouse, 1230 Main Street for the following March 14, 2017 elections:

Genesee Joint School District #282 Levy Election
Highland Joint School District #305 Levy Election
Highland Joint School District #305 Plant Facilities Levy Election
Kendrick Joint School District #283 Levy Election
Lewiston School District Special Bond Election

In-person absentee voting is available through Friday, March 10, 2017.

Ballots can also be mailed to registered voters. A written request stating the voter’s name, address as listed on registration, mailing address and voter’s signature is required. Written requests for mail-out ballots must be received by the Auditor Recorder’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ELECTION

Pursuant to Section 34-602 and Section 34-1406, Idaho Code, and the Bond Election Resolution of the Board of Directors of Independent School District No. 1, Lewiston, Idaho (the “District”), adopted on November 15, 2016, notice is hereby given that a Special General Obligation Bond Election will be held in the District on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, beginning at the hour of 8:00 A.M. and closing at the hour of 8:00 P.M. on said date, on the question whether the District shall be empowered to issue general obligation school bonds of said District in the principal amount not to exceed $59,800,000, to be repaid not later than September 15, 2037.

Notice is further given that in accordance with the Help America Vote Act of 2002, each of the polling places is accessible to individuals with disabilities.

The project to be financed by the sale of the proposed bonds is the costs of acquisition, construction, furnishing and equipping of a new comprehensive grades 9 through 12 high school, including a career-technical education center, a gymnasium and an auditorium, together with all related furnishings and equipment necessary to operate said facilities.

The interest rate anticipated on the proposed bond issue, based upon current market rates, is two and seventy-five hundredths percent (2.75%) per annum. The total amount to be repaid over the life of the bonds, based on the anticipated interest rate, is $77,381,500 consisting of $59,800,000 in principal and $19,535,000 of interest, totaling $79,335,000, less $1,953,500 in estimated bond levy equalization payments.

As of March 14, 2017, the total existing bonded indebtedness of the District, including interest accrued, is $0.00. Dated this 16th day of February, 2017.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN PURSUANT TO SECTION 34-602 AND SECTION 34-1406, IDAHO CODE THAT THE FOLLOWING ELECTIONS WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 2017.

All qualified electors residing in Nez Perce County for the Genesee Joint School District #282 and the Highland Joint School District #305 Elections will receive their ballots via mail approximately two (2) weeks prior to Election Day. The Nez Perce County Courthouse will be open between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. on said day for voting and Election Day Registration.

A SUPPLEMENTAL LEVY ELECTION FOR KENDRICK JOINT SCHOOL DISTRICT #283 on the question of issuing a Levy in the amount of $860,000 for one (1) Fiscal Year.

Polls will be open between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm at the polling place designated by the board of Nez Perce County Commissioners:

All qualified electors residing in Nez Perce County for the Kendrick Joint School District #283 Election will need to vote at the polling place shown above.
